Some of our current volunteers have also shared their experiences of volunteering with us:
I’m Nikki, I’ve been a part of Rubies for nearly 4 years now. I searched for a very long time to get some help for my daughter, and whilst searching, I found Rubies. I didn’t want any other girl to go through what my own daughter went through, so I became a volunteer. I’ve never looked back! Seeing the changes Rubies make to girls lives is heartwarming and special. Giving girls a voice, and confidence to speak up, to have fun and to have the opportunity to be themselves is something indescribable. Being part of Rubies has also changed my life and it gives me a massive sense of pride. With Rubies, I’m helping change young girls lives, which is incredible. Please get in touch if you’d like information on how you can become part of an amazing group of ladies who really are making a difference thank you x
I'm Eden. I volunteered for Rubies last summer and I loved every minute of it! Everyone made me feel so welcome and it was so rewarding too help young girls feels confident and start to realise their potential..
I'm Mary. I started volunteering with Rubies in January after seeing a post about the charity on my university website. I had never done any work like this before or any volunteering so I was unsure what to expect. But the ladies at Rubies made me feel so welcome and prepared for helping the girls. I am so glad I started and I look forward to going to the GLOW group every week. It is so important that we are looking out for girls and I would encourage anyone to look into volunteering with Rubies. Not only are we making a huge difference but it is so rewarding seeing the girls develop into confident young women. Volunteering with Rubies also gives you the opportunity to learn through different courses so we can offer the best support possible. If you'd like to find out more, please get in touch today!
*We are looking for female volunteers only for work directly with girls. This is for a genuine occupational reason as set out in Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010
